The suffering that this family endured sparked a desire for change—a deep motivation to ensure that innocent families are not subjected to the same injustices. Raising awareness is a critical part of this fight.
We are not arguing that child protective services are ineffective. What we are demanding is reform. While it is true that some children face mistreatment and neglect, there have been instances where hospitals have misrepresented or fabricated injuries, leading to wrongful involvement of families in the system. As a result, countless innocent parents, children, and families have suffered unnecessarily.
All of these events have been and continue to be defining moments for this family. They have come to understand firsthand the power and influence of the family court system, child protective services, and even the role their own family members can play. These challenges ultimately fueled their strength to fight back—determined to ensure that no other family experiences the same injustices.
In the midst of these struggles, the mother pursued a Paralegal Studies program and graduated in December 2021, further equipping herself to advocate for justice.
