Follow-Up Appointment
On April 27, 2016, a follow-up appointment revealed that no acute fractures were found, despite previous reports claiming that the child had suffered a tibia/fibula fracture. This was a significant finding, as the medical evidence no longer supported the initial claims of broken bones.
The Court's Continued Proceedings
Despite the lack of fractures being confirmed at the follow-up appointment, the court continued to operate under the assumption that these fractures still existed. They chose to ignore the new findings and continued with the proceedings as though the injuries were still present.
The court, police, and social workers persisted in questioning the parents about the alleged injuries, including the four rib fractures and the tibia/fibula fracture, even though the evidence no longer supported these claims. The constant questioning, without regard for the updated medical evidence, added to the ongoing frustration and confusion.
